#19: Read 10 New Books.

Not as entertaining as Shoe Dogs, but another great book on a unique mind.

It was a bitter sweet weekend as I said goodbye to one of my best friends in high school, Brian Purcell (next to me, middle). Depression sucks. On the flip side, I was able to reconnect with friends, some of whom I haven’t seen in two decades.

First time staying at an ARBNB. Interesting place. Beautiful day in the Bay Area.

Nothing but color on  the drive up to the bay area. With all of the rain, California is healthy again.

Wouldn’t have minded a closer game, but glad to have witnessed the win. My Dad interrupted their Puer-to Ri-co chant with One-Hit Ri-Co.

Took in a great semi-final World Baseball Classic game at Dodger Stadium. Puerto Rico edged The Netherlands in extra innings. Some very passionate baseball. Lots of MLB stars on Puerto Rico’s team, but who knew there were so many Netherland’s pros.

This one put the “UN” in “Fun”.

Night Song Market Chicken Burger. I’m regretting it this morning.

We celebrated the removal of his cone with a pool day.

Tonight was the bitter sweet end to our daughter’s brilliant soccer career. I will always cherish the memories we shared on the pitch, but can’t wait to see what’s in store for this bright and dynamic young woman I’m lucky to call my daughter.

#96: Less Clothes

No drinking and eating at home has freed up way too many hours. Finally got rid of all the clothes I couldn’t in the past. Closet feels good.

#56: Don’t Eat Out for Two Weeks

Four days in. Tonight’s meal, salt crusted backed sea bass and greek salad.

They opened NYC’s Momofuku at the Cosmo in Vegas. Delish.

Must have lunch at Milos.

Back at the lake house, but didn’t get the lake view. Our host is no longer at the Cosmo. RIP Cosmo.

Excellent. The book I need at this moment.

The rain let up enough to enjoy the Air & Key Snowboard and Music Festival. We got Brit backstage for Flume, but it was more fun watching the kids bond.

Great way to start a family bowling game. Unfortunately the streak didn’t last.

Stormy daze. Thinking about his cousin Homer, my sister’s dog,  who was put to sleep yesterday.

Home cooked meal for a bed. That’s the new rule when Brit comes home.

Pizza in the dark. Storm took out the power at the restaurant. LA isn’t made for this.

A dog cookie to celebrate the last day of radiation treatments. Lots of tests and healing lay ahead, but Hemingway was a trooper.

Too many mimosas led to a spontaneous bowling battle.

#47: See 10 New Movies in the Theater

It could’ve been really cheesy, and maybe it still was, but James McCoy gave an incredible performance. I remember seeing him in The Last King of Scotland eleven years ago and thinking he’ll win an Oscar, but it’s been nothing but X-Men movies and a bunch of misses ever since.
