Hopefully the below email is the beginning of things to come. Hey Coach, I was able to see several of your games GU17 this past weekend and i’m trying to get a hold of a few of your players. If #9 (Brittany) and #10 (Maria) are 2012 or 2013 we would like to sit down and talk with them and their families about KWU….

I know it doesn’t look like much, but this burrito sustained me for the couple of years that I lived in Chicago. It was as good as I remembered.

First stop of the day. Jean & Judes.

Despite the winds, we took off on time and arrived in Chi-town for a four day weekend.

Santa Ana Winds killed our banana tree.

The Agony of Defeat

Brit’s team took the game into overtime, but eventually lost in sudden death portion of penalty kicks. The club season is officially over. It’s High School soccer for the next few months.

Won 3-0. Brit’s team is plowing through Premiere teams. Semi finals are tonight.

Early morning view from the hotel room. Forecast is calling for 85 and sunny.

In San Diego for the weekend to compete in one of the larger area tournaments and Brit’s team is putting on a show. 2-0 today against two premiere teams. Brit’s been unstoppable and I’m about as happy as can be. One more win and they’re in the semis.

A great turnout made Devin’s 21st birthday celebration a huge success. Because we celebrated a day early, Devin’s ID didn’t quite cut it, but the waitress let it slide. I forgot my camera so you have to settle for a few iPhone pics in poor lighting.

Brit had her first scrimmage as a member of her new, much bigger High School. They lost 3-1, but Brit scored and was named Offensive Player of the Game.

A New Record

Three days before Thanksgiving. Take that, Mom.

Last view from the room before the morning flight home. Great food. Great Shopping. Not so good gambling results. But, we’ll make up for it in February when we return.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Jaleo at my favorite Spaniard celebrity chef, Jose Andres’ place.

A beautiful hotel. This picture is of the bottom level of a three story glass bar that is one enormous chandilier.

Breakfast after a late night at the Craps table. So far we’re even with the House.

Three day weekend.

Sonia’s vision update. 20/20 and improving.

Big day for Sonia today. 30 plus years of poor vision, glasses and contact madness has been done away with after a so far successful lasek surgery.

Hard day at work. But it was for a great cause. Sure it’s not a cure for cancer, but Dad’s hard earned money will help the under privileged future multi millionaire baseball players of America get paid.

Brit’s team lost their final game of the season on a rain soaked field and finished with a middle of the pack, 5-5-1 record. Barring a remarkable run in March’s State Cup, The Sherman Oaks Extreme has probably played their last league game together as the four or five best players will move on to find a Premiere team. With that said, there are…

Most of you may not care, but today is Marquette’s first game of the season. High blood pressure season begins and I couldn’t be happier.

Client dinner in Hollywood. Freestyle rap session with “homeless” rapper.

Brit went to her first Homecoming dance last night. Although she enjoyed dinner, the thousands of kids at the dance, many of whom only knew how to do the “grind”, prompted an early phone call looking for a ride home.

With lunches like this, #3 simply won’t happen this year.

We’ve reached the marketing milestone of 1000 likes on Facebook since launching our line eight months ago. Not bad.

For the first time since moving to California, Sonia and I had costumed rug rats come to door and beg for candy. Sonia actually went all out with the decorations. Our friend Tomiko brought her family with her, so I didn’t have to open the door but a couple of times.

Happy Halloween

Brit’s team traveled to San Bernadino today for the round of 32 of league cup. Brit scored two to help her team advance to the sweet 16 which was played later in the day. Unfortunately they lost 2-0.

Good news: We’re on track to double our Atlanta numbers. Bad news: Atlanta should be our bigger market.

Our home away from home In Dallas. The World Trade Center. A billion square feet of wholesale.

Took a break after the first day to take in a little Dallas in Wonderland event before finding some dinner. After thinking I wouldn’t watch more than an inning of the world series, Sonia and I watched game 6 with a bar full of Texans and enjoyed a classic game. Saturday is going to be bit crazy here.

New booth location is actually not a booth at all. It’s been a bit of a challenge to make functional and enticing, but we’re getting there. Booth aside, it’s going to be a slow show.

Just finished setting up in Dallas. October is historically a slow show. We met expectations in Atlanta a week and a half ago which means we failed. My forecast for Dallas is about 10% more than we did in Atlanta. We have to exceed that projection for me to be even remotely satisfied.

We discovered we can have Katsu-ya delivered. Dangerous.

Not ready for the rock star life.

Eddie Vedder, Santana and Dave Matthews were great. Mumford and Sons was the best.

Having lunch in downtown Palo Alto. Getting ready to enjoy some great bands.

No soccer means impromptu day trip.

Finished a collection of essays from one of my favorite modern writers.

Enjoying our old stomping grounds.

Still trying to figure out how to get the best angle. I’ll stay behind the goal next time. Anyway, Brit had her third hat trick in the last six games. If you watch this in full screen you can sort of see two of them. But, maybe more impressive is her no look heel pass at the end.

#19 barely in progress

Played 5 on 5 basketball for the first time in ten years. I threw up in my mouth and probably had a heart attack.

Although Basically Me is our baby, we continue to produce three other lines at LA Fashion Insider, Inc. A few of those styles have even made their way onto the backs of celebrities. Beyonce wearing Show Me Your Mumu Jessica Alba wearing Show Me Your Mumu A Savannah Rae dress on the cover of Atlanta’s Finest

The calm before what we hope will be a storm in Atlanta.

Nothin’ like a warm fall day in LA.

We’re getting ready for our final shows of the year in Atlanta and Dallas. Added a couple of states since the last update, but we’re doing little to promote our line outside of our Southern base.
