Completed 57% of my goals for 2019. Not as good as last year, but slightly above average. Started off by ringing in the New Year in Hollywood with our family. Celebrated Kaden and Kennedy’s 13th. Visited my favorite US city. Enjoyed a bunch of Supper Club events. Joined a club. Celebrated Rosie’s 25th in Dallas. Bowled a bunch. Brit joined the 200. Completed a…
#21: Read 14 additional books Read my first Murakami book. A metaphysical mind bender. In an interview posted on his English-language website, Murakami says that the secret to understanding the novel lies in reading it several times: “Kafka on the Shore contains several riddles, but there aren’t any solutions provided. Instead, several of these riddles combine, and through their interaction the possibility of a solution…
#48: See ten movies in the theater. Brutal war. Good movie.
#20: Read 4 Pulitzer winning/finalist Fiction Novels A beautifully written novel about our relationship with trees. I took more away from the writing than the actual story. I also learned that even though a lot of people can hate a book, the author can still win the Pulitzer Prize.
#45: Three Beaches. Incredible weather to start of the new year.
#56: Bike ride in another city. Oxnard, CA
Sleep in a treehouse Grow LA Fashion Insider Ring in the New Year Do something I wouldn’t do if not for this blog Go to a Marquette game Key West Shot gun Off roading Stay at a top 20 US hotel Go to a playoff game Sleep in the desert Visit an American City we’ve never been to Visit a state we’ve never been…

Loved it. Not for everyone though.
#2: Grow LA Fashion Insider I stepped back from the company to start writing again and the result was a second year in a row of growth. Hmm.
Last book of the year. A great writer.

#48: I saw the first one when I was around 8 years old. I started sharing the folklore with the kids when they were around the same age. It took four decades, but tonight, I took in the last chapter of Star Wars with my adult children. The tear in my eye wasn’t for the storyline.
#20: It was obviously well written, but a bit old fashion for my taste.
#29: Complete Magnolia & Seoul Album
Loved it.
Well written, but my least favorite of his.
Broke into our place to “inside job” the pot shop above us, but when they hit concrete our computers were their parting gifts.
#68: Set my watch to 5 different time zones. For the first time in years we’re not getting on a jet plane for the holidays. That said, #68 is complete with six time zones. Pacific Time: Los Angeles. Napa & Sonoma Valley. Las Vegas. Yosemite. Mountain Time: Sun Valley, Idaho. Atlantic Time: NYC layover Central time: Dallas. Austin. Kansas City & Springfield, Missouri. Fayetteville, Arkansas….
Enjoyed it.
#75: Commit to a writing process After a ten year hiatus, I’m finally writing like it’s my job again. Thanks to Sonia, I’ve been writing 40 hours a week since April. Hope to have a first draft of a novel next year.
Loved the writing. Not alone considering it won the Pulitzer Prize.
It was probably the elephant research and subplot of this mystery that got me.
I didn’t love the book, but I loved the writing.
Donna Summer at the Pantages. Fun night with my dad and Georgeanne.
