#87 falls for this brave boy.

Happy Birthday, Alex!

Home Korean BBQ for Alex’s 26th. Hemingway was overwhelmed by the pool day.

Eddie’s lyrics for Dance of the Clairvoyants are on point: Expecting perfection Leaves a lot to ignore When the past is the present And the future’s no more When every tomorrow Is the same as before Numbers keep falling off the calendar’s floor We’re stuck in our boxes Windows open no more Could’ve lifted up the forget-me-nots Not recalling what they’re for

Pearl Jam

I was supposed to see Pearl Jam next week in Nashville and then a few days after that in Los Angeles. But… At least they dropped their first album in seven years. And the first one that I liked in twenty-two years. And here is a clip of when I first saw them play twenty-eight years ago at Marquette’s Alumni Theater.

2020 Best Year Ever

According to Hemingway and Rio.

We’re Number One!

#9: Complete 10 nagging home repairs Spent the weekend working on a few projects. Rebuilt and painted the above frame. Patched a two year old hole in the guest bathroom’s drywall. Weather stripped the front door. Patched a hole under the kitchen sink. Cocked a bunch of cracks. Kinda fun. Sonia painted the dining room wall.

Sonia made her house favorite Lechon for dinner. And for lunch the next day, I added sweet and spicy pepper relish, Swiss cheese and a toasted bun.

R.I.P. Finnigan

After nearly twenty years of life, Finnegan’s failing kidneys made euthanasia the most compassionate option. He made it clear that it was time by meowing day and night over the last 48 hours. It was harder than any of us anticipated. The kids said he was the last thread to their childhood which was a punch in the gut. Finnegan was more dog than…

We’re Doomed
