We like eating in Dallas, but we’ll always have to pay.

#1 In Progress

So far, so good. We surpassed last show’s numbers on the first day. Lots of repeat business, as well.

#1 In Progress

Front and center in Dallas. We have a much better location than the first show. Hopefully it translates to sales.

In Dallas

After a long day of set up, we enjoyed the warm summer night with a couple of cervezas in Uptown.

# 14 Done.

By Brittany:

So, to all my frequent blog visitors I’m sorry I haven’t been fulfilling my promise, but I can’t stress enough that it was for a good reason. I have been watching a dozen marathons of Criminal Minds, just incase anyone was wondering why I haven’t been blogging. So, this weekend I scored a goal on a backwards header. Although I don’t have proof, you can be rest assured that it did in fact happen.

Ended the tourney with an easy 2-0 win. Brit scored an amazing twenty foot backwards header.

Between Games in Long Beach

Brit’s team lost 1-0 this morning to a very good U19 team and a very bad blown off sides call.

Brit’s team entered a U19 Silver/Silver Elite tourney (they’re currently U16). The age difference didn’t seem to matter much for the first game as they won 4-0. They’ll try to win two tomorrow to play for the championship on Monday.

Another photo shoot in the books.

#42 Done

Played a round at Sherwood with my Pa.  Definitely got my money’s worth as I got to hit the ball twice as many times as everyone else.

#11 In Progress

By Kenwood:

Read Bill Bryson’s, A Short History of Almost Everything.  Very good.

Facebook has become a major marketing tool for Basically Me. Now I’m obsessed with getting 1000 “likes” within a year.

Brittany’s #11 in Progress

By Kenwood:

Be alert out there, people! Brit has been awarded a permit by the State of California to operate a moving vehicle. If she drives like she plays soccer we’re in trouble.

#22 Done

By Brittany:

This past weekend we went to the San Diego Zoo. The silverback gorillas were the highlight of the day.

#24 Done.

By Kenwood:

Enjoyed a night at the ballpark in San Diego. Petco Park is yet another example of how a baseball game should be experienced. Dodger Stadium should be blown up.

#30 in progress. In San Diego eating oysters:)

By Brittany:

I just got the iphone 4 in white and absolutely fell in love. My heart couldn’t resist such a beautiful thing. So, there is a good and bad to this story. Good, I got a new phone. Bad, #3 won’t be getting crossed off my list.

We traded in the 2010 E350 because, well the 2010 is so last year. Actually, the leasing program for the 2011 was just that good. We got a few more options for about a hundred bucks less a month.

This blog has moved

But you have to be in the secret club to know where.

Brittany and I decided we would attempt this for your reading pleasure. It won’t be fifteen consecutive days, but we’ll give it a shot.

#8 In progress. As super hero movies go, Thor was pretty good. Britt thought it had a lot of heart.

By Brittany:

Yes, I know it’s not the best picture of me, but the fact that my cousins are beating me up makes it good after all. So #20 is still in progress but hopefully i can cross that one off of my list soon 🙂

Devin graced us with his presence on Sunday night for dinner, but I’m pretty sure it was the Potatoes Au Gratin that sealed the deal.

Here we go

By Brittany:

So, today’s the day I get to write my first blog post….Yay!  I am going to have to deal with the nagging of “Brittany, when are you going to do a new post?” And my answer will always be “I don’t know”.  Although, I will have to be on top of my game and not quit, I am glad I can finally do something with my dad.

Still Here

By Kenwood:

Just when I thought I was out, it pulled me back in. Blogger for life I guess. However, this time I won’t be the only one as Brittany has agreed to join the blogosphere. So, along with the new address and a slightly different look, you’re getting two bloggers for the price of one. Oh, and comments are enabled, so feel free to occasionally tell us how awesome we are.

The End

Unfortunately a new beginning means the end of this blog in its current form.  To quote Truman Burbank from the Truman Show,  "Good morning, and in case I don’t see ya, good afternoon , good evening, and good night!“

Enjoyed the first game of the year today at Dodger Stadium with Sonia, Georgeanne and my Dad.  To make it even better the Dodgers lost.  P.S. I love my camera.

Scenes From Santa Monica

We spent the day in Santa Monica shopping, walking and eating sushi.  The following is the mini impromptu photo shoot that took place above the PCH.

#98 in Progress. The perfect app to my scallops.

Lots more Basically Me went out the door today.

Although we had a couple of customers text us with orders while huddled in their basements, we’re pretty sure we’re about to have a slow month or two.  Enough with the oil spills, floods, hurricanes and tornados.  Why can’t northern girls wear dresses?

Added another piece to my gallery of personal movie inspirations. This is a Tim Doyle original that depicts a scene from Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.  I rented this movie with my Dad during Chirstmas break of my freshman year of college.  Thirty minutes into the movie I decided that I wanted to pursue writing screenplays.

Scenes From Palm Springs

Because it was the weekend we were hoping for, there aren’t too many interesting pics to share because we were either in the pool or sleeping by said pool.

#98 In progress. Enjoyed Fanny Bay oysters in Palm Springs. They’re no Kumamotos, but fresh oysters in the desert is nothing to complain about.

#11 in progress.  Saw African Cats. To see them in person is on my lifetime bucket list’s top five.

Number 27 in progress. Escaping the coastal fog that’s been blanketing LA with a trip to Palm Springs.

#2 in progress. Added five more states, but places like Wyoming are going to be tough to crack.

Sonia had four more metal tads screwed into her jawbone in an effort to pull her teeth back a little quicker than they were already moving. Yet another reason getting my teeth fixed is not on this list.

#17 in progress. Guy gets dumped at the alter and travels around the world with his brother for one year. Could’ve been a great travel memoir, but the writing really held it back.

The Final Four game lived up to the hype and went two overtimes without either team scoring a goal.  After losing another starter to an ACL injury, Brit’s teamed limped into the PK shootout and lost 2-1.

Between Games

The Elite 8 game against Laguna Niguel was a physical one. Both teams scored a goal on a penalty kick and the 1-1 tie held until the 75th minute when Brit scored the game winner.  Sherman Oaks Extreme is headed to the Final Four of the California State Cup.

My nephew, Kaden, proved to his sister that he was the faster one.

Sean brought the Fam to Bakersfield to watch Brit compete in the State Cup.

Brit scored all three goals to lead her team to the elite eight with a 3-0 win.

#20 done. Traded in the Ford Edge for the Ford Edge Sport. Lots of bells and whistles, especially the on board computer that does just about everything. 3.7-liter V-6 delivers 305 horsepower and 280 ft.-lb. of torque. 22 inch rims. Paddle shift.

Photobucket

#58 done. Took one of our favorite clients to Mario Batali’s Osteria Mozza. Really, really good.
