Nothing is bigger in Texas than rodeos. And if you want to win Miss Rodeo, you better be wearing Basically Me.

Sean and Sonia took a half day off with me to cheer on the Warriors.

I don’t whether or not I liked the story, but I liked the movie because it had one.

Brit and I explored a bit of Burbank on the bikes today. We visited the animal shelter, but it made her cry. Nevertheless, she wants to go more often. Most distressing about the ride was that she twice beat me in a race.

Selection Sunday

The field is set and Marquette is a 3 seed. March Madness is all I care about until they lose. Hoping for a couple of weeks of bliss before they break my heart.

We celebrated Brittany’s high school season tonight. The best part is that it’s over.

Trying to show off their calves.

Brittany was named offensive player of the year.

Great book.

Day at the Beach

With temps in the high 80’s, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to spend the day at Hermosa Beach. Had breakfast at our favorite spot, walked along the strand, had some shaved ice, napped on the beach and then finished off the day with the perfect Philly Cheesesteak.

My Sunday nap spot.

Happy Birthday, Tom

A very happy birthday to my Brother-In-Law.

Might just be beach weather tomorrow.

Marquette finally won on Senior Day and ended their best regular season since I’ve been a fan. Hopefully they make a run in the tourney and get back to New Orleans.

My dinner. Named one of the top 25 burgers in America, the In n’ Out burger is my favorite fast food burger. Always fresh. Never disappoints.

Set up a monthly donation to the World Wildlife Fund to help stop the Chinese from snorting rhino horns for their little wang syndrome. And another monthly donation to the Humane Society in my Aunt Ona’s name.

Our dress, the second pic (right) was included in a spread on the season’s bold patterns and prints in Charleston Magazine.

Schadenfreude

Despite 70 degree temperatures through much of our winter, the pool is bone chilling cold due to the 40 and 50 degree nights. Nothing makes me giggle like a fool more than playful torture. So much so I’m willing to pay for it.

Getting ready to watch the 84th annual Gay Super Bowl.

Enjoyed a great dinner at Ink on Melrose. After winning Bravo’s Top Chef, Chef Voltaggio opened up this joint and was promptly named one of the top chefs in LA.

This is dinner in Burbank.

At Santa Anita Race Track with a bunch of Goombas.

Technically I said “see someone wearing Basically Me on the streets”, so I suppose this doesn’t count. Nevertheless, we spotted this American Idol contestant wearing one of our dresses from last Spring.

Valentine’s Day at Home

Las Vegas Show

The first day of the show went as expected. Lots of people, but relatively light on the sales. It’s an overwhelming venue. You could probably fit about ten football fields inside and every vendor is trying to out do the next. On a positive note, I put $40 on 10 on the Roulette wheel before heading off to the airport and actually hit it for a $1400 win.

Morning schedule: Bet with my heart and took Marquette giving 6 1/2 points against Cincy. My brain would never make that bet. Once I finish my Bloody Mary and Eggs Benedict, I’ll go try to watch the game without throwing up.

First meal in Vegas is at Jose Andres’, Chinese/Mexican restaurant, Chino Poblano.

And We’re Back…

I left the confines of my office and walked a couple miles to the bike store and found this. We got to know each other on the ride home and have agreed to see each other regularly.

Happy 10th Birthday!

To my oldest nephew, Dylan.

Curtain Call

I made it nearly 39 years without having to go to a dance show, but all streaks must come to an end. That said, this was a happy ending as it involved my sister, Rosie. She was is a star.

After a lifetime avoiding doctors, I finally decided it was time to make a commitment. My new doc’s name is Gevorkian, not to be confused with the guy pictured.

Happy 18th Birthday, Sis.

LA Fashion Insider, Inc sprang for a couple of First Class tickets back home…. And it was nothing like the above.

Last night in Dallas for Sonia and me. We’ll leave our girls to finish up the weekend. Unless buyers dry up, this show should beat our previous high but fall short of my expectations.

Integrating the girls into the Texan culture.
