The plantation was occupied by both the Colonial and British troops. British generals Clinton and Cornwallis used it as a staging area before sacking Charleston.

Checked into the historic Wentworth Mansion and promptly took a nap in the 18th century old room.

The Wentworth Mansion, built in 1886 as a private residence for the wealthy cotton merchant Francis Silas Rodgers, invites guests to enjoy the preserved opulence of America’s Gilded Age. The inn’s 21 guestrooms and suites feature antique furnishings, carved marble fireplaces, and oversized whirlpool tubs. The Mansion is located in Historic Downtown Charleston; antique and specialty shops, historic attractions and art galleries are within walking distance.

Got in to Atlanta at 5:30am, picked up a car and drove five hours north to Charleston. Stopped at the first place with a good bowl of shrimp and grits.

Stabilized the pool equipment gate and reattached the latch. Exciting stuff.

Spent the second half of a beautiful day watching Brit play a three game round robin tournament against conference opponents. UCR won 2 and tied one and are undefeated in the Spring season thus far. Brit started 2 of 3 games and played her best games in her young college career.

Hoping for something akin to Liar’s Poker or The Wolf of Wall Street, but Young Money is a rather bland inside look into first year investment bankers.

Photo shoot today, so the team (minus a couple of members) stepped in for a quick pic.

#71: Build an iPhone app.

We finally took our website mobile. It can now be accessed by smart phone or tablet.

Had dinner tonight in the canyon when we noticed an Oscar at the next table. Of course we had to ask for a picture. In case you’re wondering, Best Make Up for Dallas Buyers Club. Oh, and it’s really heavy.

A soggy start to the Spring season at UCR. Brit started and helped her team secure a 1-0 victory over Cal Baptist.

rain

The sight of rain has become so rare that I need to post it for later viewing.

#5 Prepare 12 meals at home

A rainy night means burgers Bobby Flay style.

A bar side pic of kumamotos, mussels and cheese wouldn’t normally be significant, but tonight we walked to enjoy this meal. Burbank is coming of age.

Six classes in and even the basic steps like this one are really hard to get. Tango isn’t choreographed, but looks like it when mastered. Every move comes from the man. When you know what you’re doing, a man should be able to lead any woman (who is a tango dancer) on the floor and dance an entire routine without ever speaking. If I knew the basic walk takes years to master, I probably would chosen break dancing.

#39. Eat at Jose Andres’ secret Cosmo restaurant

After reserving over two months in advance, we finally got a place at the ten seat “secret” restaurant. The menu reflects the chef’s journey through Spain. It was well worth the wait.

Rose. Rabbit. Lie. Is a new innovative comedy variety show at the Cosmopolitan. I was loving every second of it until I was dragged on stage to point a gun at a dog cradled in my arms. The dog is fine.

dinner

Kusshi, Kumamoto and charred oysters with a greek salad. Makes me miss N’awlins.

Rio will never be a mother.

I wished my nephew a happy birthday a day early. When he called me out on it I told him I was texting him from the future. I just got back to the present with proof.

After breakfast mimosas in Hollywood.

Happy 12th Birthday, Dylan.
