Best Picture: Boyhood (It was better than average, but Whiplash remains my favorite)

Best Actress: Julianne Moore (Haven’t seen her movie, but she has won everything else)

Best Actor: Eddie Redmayne (I know Michael Keaton is the frontrunner, but Eddie’s performance was spot on)

Best Supporting Actress: Patricia Arquette (Because she has also won everything else. Very weak category this year)

Best Supporting Actor: J. K. Simmons (I will boycott the oscars if he doesn’t win.)

Best Cinematography: Birdman

Best Editing: Boyhood

Best Adapted Screenplay: The Theory of Everything (But honestly, impossible category)

Best Original Screenplay: Birdman

Best Director: Richard Linklater for Boyhood. (But really a coin toss with Birman director)

Great to see Brittany play the majority of minutes in all three games at the Big West Spring Tournament at UC Irvine. Finally having asthma medicine has done her wonders.

I just canceled our April trip to French Quarter Fest in New Orleans in favor of some work obligations. Work over life? This could be the end.

A group finally refurbished the La Cana ruins that have looked like the upper right photo for as long as we’ve lived here. Service left much to be desired, but great looking space.

I gave five bucks to Chewy for the pic and the Storm Trooper was all bent out of shape.

Our Valentine’s Day came with some sacrifice. UCR played their first Spring scrimmage against a powerhouse San Diego State team. Brittany scored the first goal in the second half of what would become a 5-0 rout.

Staying up late in Vegas and taking in a show. Thanks, Anna. They say it takes 21 days to make a habit. We have no intentions to pushing this one. The sunrises were great, but come 1pm, it was zombie time.

Business was a roller coaster ride, and 2014 was “The Colossus”, but, we played hard, too. Watching Brit score the game winning goal against UC Irvine was the pinnacle moment of my year. Here are a few other highlights….

Billy Joel, Elton John, Eagles, Michael McDonald, Gypsy Kings, Jason Mraz, Zac Brown Band, Fleetwood Mac, Some of the biggest country stars.

Saw the Kings win a big one before winning it all. Then commutted to San Francisco to see the Giants do the same.
