#39 Done: Visit Something Ancient.
Cañada de la Virgen, the most resent ancient pyramid discovered in the world, has only been open since 2012. Our guide made it a truly illuminating experience.

#74: Set my watch to six time zones.
This has been my favorite goal for the last couple of years, so I am most sad not to have completed it.
Here is where I’ve been:
Pacific: San Francisco, Las Vegas. Palm Springs, Napa
Central: Chicago and San Miguel De Allende, Mexico.
Atlantic: Bahamas, Atlanta, GA, New Orleans, LA
CET: Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Lucca &Cinque Terre, Italy.

It was a Christmas miracle for Hemingway when the McCloreys came to town and gave him a pool day on a chilly winter’s day.

#17: Grow LA Fashion Insider
Not since 2012 have we accomplished this goal. There are lots of mitigating factors as to why, but I only want to concentrate on one. We got too comfortable. We got complacent. We didn’t really want more, so we got less. A lot less. Like 50% less over the last couple of years. I would be on the ledge if I weren’t so excited to rebound. We may have to pivot here or there, but Sonia and I got this. This company’s biggest years are ahead of it and growing LA Fashion Insider will be #1 on the list for 2016 and it will be crossed off.

#38: See 10 New Movies in the Theater
The new Star Wars wiped away the bad taste in my mouth from the last three. Brit and I liked it a lot.

It’s been a tough road, but we continue to beat the odds with this small Southern Boho Clothing Line.

#10 Reduce our energy bills by 30%
Thanks to NEST, energy spending was the one bright spot in our finance management.

The new nap inducer, aka couch, arrived today. Looks good against Sonia’s repurposed pallet wood wall creation.

Hemingway was excited to see us until he saw the clippers, but in the end I think they both appreciate the haircut.

Started the night off right with Sam Hunt at the Chelsea. Finished it off even better with the dice.

What I Miss?
Posted on November 24, 2015

I thought for sure Marquette would lose horribly and it would be the silver lining of not being there in person. Nope, the Warriors pulled off the upset against number 22 LSU in Brooklyn. Billy Joel rocked the Garden. Chef Masa created some culinary masterpieces. And New Yorkers were treated to an epic blood red sunset on Sunday night. Woe is me, right?

Joined my brother, George, at the the James White screening followed by a Q & A with the director and actors. A feel good holiday movie…. Not.

Today’s oyster and champagne brunch, along with temps in the high 80’s, make missing our trip to NYC slightly more tolerable.

Because I am now of the age when arteries apparently rupture for no reason, we’re staying put this week and had time to install the chandelier we picked up in New Orleans. Here are a few things that won’t be happening because of said artery:
2. Compete in a Spartan Race. (Regardless of Artery Rupture)
8. Pear Jam (On their South America tour)
67. Go to a Marquette Game
84. See a Broadway Show

Headed to NYC on Thursday…. Or not. Turns out you can’t fly with a ruptured anterior ethmoid artery. No Billy Joel at the Garden. No epic 26 course dinner at Masa. No floor seats at the Marquette game in Brooklyn. All over a friction’ bloody nose. Instead it’s bed rest and a nose stuffed with packing. And if and when the artery is repaired, surgery will follow to repair the broken and deviated septum that I’ve been living with since I was twelve. See, it’s not all seashells and balloons.
