#61 Done. A day on Lake Strawberry in Utah.

#18: Utah #26: Fly fish 3 Rivers. A beautiful float down the Provo. Caught a mountain whitefish that our guide was convinced was a Utah state record. The record is 21.5″. He was sure mine was at least 22″. I let it go, so we’ll never know.

This is the moment he knew he wasn’t going to grandma and grandpa’s. Despite the betrayal, he remained brave throughout his Oncology appointment.

With Brit’s weekends now booked for work, we celebrated Father’s Day early by taking in the final Mission: Impossible.

#43: Go to a Giants game. Despite a comedy of delays, our planes, trains, and automobiles adventure included three hours of perfection at the ballpark.

#1: Read 25 Books. The gap between a novel and a Pulitzer-winning novel is large. Loved this book.

Watched Kaden pitch and help his team eliminate Navy in the first round of the playoffs, ate some excellent pizza, and doted over little Kenwood.

Hemingway was having so much fun in the mountains that we forgot to post his birthday pic on the 2nd.

#74: Spend a weekend in the mountains. Less than two hours from LA. Not sure why we don’t go more often.

#4: Stay in a cabin. On a last-minute getaway to the mountains. Lake Arrowhead.

The one day a year I feel like a kid again.

#1: Read 25 Books. He took one last road trip in 62′ before he died. He spent a good deal of his journey lost, and it becomes evident at the end of the story that being lost is a metaphor for how much America has changed in Steinbeck’s eyes. He said, “America, it seems, is in a sense directionless and is therefore endangered as it moves into an uncertain future marked by huge population shifts, racial tensions, technological and industrial change, and unprecedented environmental destruction.”

Luckily, we figured things out.
