#48: See 10 movies in the theater
Need to take more advantage of the H Club’s theater. Today’s showing of Ford vs Ferrari was a good one.

#48: See 10 New Movies in the Theater
One of the front runners for the best picture, but I’d still give it to 1917.
Good Luck, Alex!

#21: Read 14 additional novels
Didn’t like this one as much as her latest. Too many characters to keep track of.
Happy Birthday Rosie!

So this didn’t published on the 1st when it was supposed to.
General Hemingway
Posted on February 5, 2020

Courageously led his battalion to victory over cancer at the Battle of the Bulge; not once, not twice, but three times. May this painting serve as a reminder of his bravery and greatness for generations to come.
(P.S. Hemingway remains retired from battle and spends his days chasing tennis balls and sleeping on his back. Hoping for a cancer free 2020.)

Year in Review
Posted on January 19, 2020
Completed 57% of my goals for 2019. Not as good as last year, but slightly above average.

Started off by ringing in the New Year in Hollywood with our family.

Celebrated Kaden and Kennedy’s 13th.
Visited my favorite US city.

Enjoyed a bunch of Supper Club events.

Joined a club.

Celebrated Rosie’s 25th in Dallas.

Bowled a bunch. Brit joined the 200.

Completed a half dozen courses.

Hemingway played plenty of ball.

Found a happy place in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Went to a few museums .
Went on a couple of pub crawls.

Went on some hikes.

Enjoyed plenty of pool days.

Hemingway beat cancer for a third time.

Paintball.
Loved Austin, Texas.
Stayed in an airstream in Yosemite.

Alex made the all star game and a promotion to Double A.
A great weekend in Kenwood.

Read more books in a year than ever.

Celebrated George’s 28th.
Celebrated Brittany’s 24th in Springfield, Missouri to almost see Alex pitch.

Didn’t sell the bronco.

Saw some good movies.

A few visits with Mom.
A couple of trips to Vegas.
And saw a Beatle.
And Stapleton, Eric Church, Mumford and Sons, Lionel Richie and The Rolling Stones.

Beaches.

Fell in love with Korean BBQ

Another special trip to Spain and Portugal.

That included top bars, beaches, and book stores.

Built our clientele.
Palm Springs.

Holidays with the family.
A staycation with family to finish off a beautiful 2019.

#21: Read 14 additional books
Read my first Murakami book. A metaphysical mind bender.
In an interview posted on his English-language website, Murakami says that the secret to understanding the novel lies in reading it several times: “Kafka on the Shore contains several riddles, but there aren’t any solutions provided. Instead, several of these riddles combine, and through their interaction the possibility of a solution takes shape. And the form this solution takes will be different for each reader. To put it another way, the riddles function as part of the solution. It’s hard to explain, but that’s the kind of novel I set out to write”.
Yeah, I didn’t get it. Loved the writing though. Won’t read it again, but I’ll read another of his.

#20: Read 4 Pulitzer winning/finalist Fiction Novels
A beautifully written novel about our relationship with trees. I took more away from the writing than the actual story. I also learned that even though a lot of people can hate a book, the author can still win the Pulitzer Prize.

#48: I saw the first one when I was around 8 years old. I started sharing the folklore with the kids when they were around the same age. It took four decades, but tonight, I took in the last chapter of Star Wars with my adult children. The tear in my eye wasn’t for the storyline.
