Netflixed this faux documentary. Kind of a waste of time.

Happy Birthday to my favorite red headed niece!

Finally.

The agony of defeat.  Brit’s team finally lost and lost the ability to control their own destiny.

Brit had a goal and an assist to lead her team to a 4-0 win.  They are now half way through the season and are clinging to first place by one point.

My new Apple TV was delivered and I’m already loving it. A steal at $99.

Congrats to Matt and Beth for the arrival of their boy, Robert James.  When he’s old enough to learn how to throw a baseball like a man, I’ll be happy to step in for you.

Assembling office furniture in the hellish heat.

The temp on my dashboard is off a couple of degrees. I think it’s actually hotter.

Warm night called for a BBQ with friends.

Despite playing one of the weaker teams, the heat made the game a dog fight. Thankfully, Brit’s team came out ahead 2-1.

Despite it being over 100 degrees, Brit’s team fought through dehydration and headaches to force a 1-1 tie in order to remain in first place.

Netflixed Date Night. Not horrible.

The moon has been pretty cool lately.

New Digs

After a few months in the sardine factory, we had no choice but to spring for a bigger boat.   From this… To this…

Brit scored the first goal and helped her team win 2-0 to secure sole possession of first place.

Spent the early afternoon with friends on a downtown Los Angeles rooftop.

Brit scored two early to help her team win 4-0. They play the team they’re tied for first with tomorrow.

At only my fourth MLB game for the year. But I think I’ve seen four of the best NL pitchers in the league. Tonight it’s Jimenez for the Rockies.

Four clients in a week, four expensive dinners. I think we may have lost money.

Took a client to Bottega Louis in downtown. Great place.

8 games at once is how I spent my Sunday.

Spent an early morning in Newbury Park to watch Brit’s team serve up a 4-0 whooping. Brit scored twice and the team is 2-0.

Netflixed the Green Zone. Sub par reviews kept me from seeing it in theaters, but I liked it.

Brit had two assists to help her team win the first game of the season, 2-0.

August Recap It has recently become clear that #1 makes everything else difficult to get to.  Other than a sunset and a bottle of wine, the list took a back seat to textiles.  There are certainly worse problems to have, but I’m sure going to miss having an Old Style at Wrigley.  What’s Done… #12. Caught the sun setting over the horizon on Pismo…

The defending champ makes his pick for this year’s team.

Netflixed Greenberg. Meh.

There she goes. First day of 10th grade.

Brit’s team lost 3-2 in the finals.  Refs were ridiculously bad, but the girls weren’t as sharp as the previous three games. Brit had a great tourney with four goals and three assists. Our tournament season is now finished as league starts up next weekend.

Famous pismo beach chowder for lunch.

Brit’s team went 2-0-1 to win their pool and make the finals. They’ll play an undefeated team this afternoon.

#25 done. Had a nice pinot from a local Arroyo Grande winery.

#12 done.

Our first game was a rematch against the best team we’ve ever played (they knocked us out of the State Cup in the semis). This time around Brit’s team won 2-0. Brit scored both, the second was probably one of her best goals of all time.

Playing in the vineyard covered hills of Arroyo Grande. Beautiful day.

#57 done. Pismo Beach.

At Pismo Beach, about an hour north of Santa Barbara.

Cleaning out the closets. Can you spot Bella?

Back in the high school gym for Brit’s 10th grade orientation .

Like most people who read, I finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and really liked it. The writer, Steig Larsson wrote this, his first novel, as part of a trilogy that was published after his death.  His trilogy has sold over 30 million copies and continues to climb.  Ain’t that the pits.

For reasons unknown, I decided to cook some Paella tonight. Despite having no clue how to go about it, both Sonia and Brittany gave me a big thumbs up.

Another Vegas weekend in the books. When you’re flying in, the place seems so small, but once you’re on the strip, every hotel feels like a mile apart. Everyone has their own Vegas. It’s a place where you can do anything. Well, we pretty much have our Vegas routine down. We stay at a nice enough hotel with a great pool. We do a little…

For the kids.

On the strip.

Making the heat work for us.

Had our first “company wide” meeting. I watched this first. (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)
