The first day wasn’t as bad as it seemed, but our target customer didn’t make the trip to NYC. Although we didn’t write the kind of orders we do in Dallas and Atlanta, we did manage to pick up a number of new stores in the North.

I made Sonia hike through Central Park in her heels, but number 50 took a tumble thanks to checking out this Egyptian marvel known as Cleopatra’s Needle. Here’s the scoop: The Obelisk, nicknamed Cleopatra’s Needle, is the oldest man-made object in Central Park. A pair of obelisks was commissioned for Heliopolis on the banks of the Nile in 1500 BC by an Egyptian pharaoh…

Dinner in “Old” Greenwich with Matt, Beth and the Kids.

Since the last update, we added Utah, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois and New York.

#14 and #37 Done

Sonia, Brit and I caught a showing of, It Happened One Night with Clark Gabel at the Forever Cemetery in Hollywood. We enjoyed the classic movie surrounded by the eternal homes of many famous corpses including Douglas Fairbanks, Jane Mansfield and Bugsy Seigel.

It’s my 20th High School Reunion today. Too busy and uninterested to attend. The 25th or 30th may be more appealing.

Happy Birthday, Sonia!

Congrats to adding Fashion Designer to your resume in your 41st year. Like a fine wine, babe.

Toured Pearl Harbor. It was a bit eerie being there. Toro, Toro, Toro.

Brittany’s List

No matter how much I bug her, Brittany just isn’t a blogger. Nevertheless, her goals for the rest of the year remain the same, so I’ll keep you in the loop as to her progress with 51-100.

Sunset at Waikiki Beach, HI

Watching the women’s World Cup finals halfway between the contenders’ countries.

We spent the morning on the other side of the island Lanikai Beach. This was before game two of the tournament that would end in a massacre. Brit’s team played the best team they ever faced and were murdered 9-0. It was definitely an eye opener. Only four or five of our players could have made their team. Only two could start.

We actually pulled off a surprise birthday party in Hawaii.

Game One

Despite being down to 12 players, Sherman Oaks Extreme played 90 minutes and beat a good Hawaiian team 4-1. Brit scored two.

Pre soccer beach nap.

I forgot my camera wire, so iPhone pics until Monday.

Happy 16th, Brit!

The best part of my day is being your dad.

Photo Shoot Sunday

One of these days we’ll be able to afford the perfect location for one of our shoots. Until then, we will continue to improvise. On a positive note, the latest models we hired were great.

#40 in progress.

We haven’t bought a hammock yet, but we made an offer on a backyard (and home) to put it when we do. That offer was recently accepted, and last night, we went into escrow. But… There’s always a but. Now we need to accomplish the Herculean task of convincing a bank to loan us a lot of money. Sisyphus meet boulder.

I think we’re delayed. It was a perfectly hot and sunny weekend when the wrath came.

It was a losing affair this weekend until Sonia threw the dice on Sunday and proceeded to roll for close to an hour and hit five numbers. We’re leaving down a few bucks, but it could’ve been a blood bath.

One of my favorite memories. The 4th of July parade in Gustavus, Alaska.

At the tail end of our dinner in Vegas on Friday night the Basically Me phone rang and Sonia, a couple of glasses of wine in, answered. A young Southern Boutique owner, also a couple of wine glasses into her own meal, had to write an order right then and there. So, on the back of the bill we wrote an order. Suddenly dinner…

Sorry Brit.

And the pool at Paris, Vegas makes five.

In Vegas with the pretty people.

A minute into picking up Brit and her friend from UCLA they were complaining about all of the oats and fruit they had to eat and demanded a stop at Kiwami for some sushi.

Not sure what’s happening, but the number on the scale keeps going up. 176lbs now. My suit probably doesn’t even fit.

We came home to an empty house because Brit started a three day soccer camp at UCLA.
