We’ve wanted to try the Little Door in West Hollywood for awhile now. A client dinner finally gave us a good excuse.
Enjoyed some great appetizers and watched Dad prepare the steaks for the grill when we got the call that Brit’s team made the championship game, so off we went. Brit’s team scored a goal in the final seconds to send the game in to overtime. Three minutes later, Brit scored the game winner and saved our Labor Day.
I think I have a shot this year.
The warehouse portion of our new office is nearly complete.
Combines my interest in historical figures and cemeteries.
Neil Diamond. The Entertainer. This show was the 40th anniversary of his Hot August Nights show at the Greek. Even at 71, the man put on a great show. He dedicated “Coming to America” to his mom, Rosie, who was at the show celebrating her birthday. When I was in college, my buddies and I followed around a Neil Diamond impersonator from bar to…
The new office/warehouse is currently under construction.
Despite being a few subs short, Brit’s team fought through the hottest weekend of the year to win their 3rd tournament over the last four played. Brittany scored nine goals in four games, but was unhappy she couldn’t find the back of the net in the final half of the championship game. Glass half empty, just like her dad.
I wrote a screenplay about a New York City bike messenger. He picks up the wrong package and suddenly everyone wants him dead, especially a rouge police officer. It was read at every production house, but we never secured a deal. Wonder if this guy read it, because I count three exact scenes in the trailer alone.
Not the way I wanted to spend my Sunday. Hemingway couldn’t walk on his right leg, so we took him to the vet for an examination. Although the X-rays showed no fractures, they did show that his pelvis never healed correctly from some trauma that occurred before we adopted him, so he’s highly prone to injuries. He’s on bed rest this week, so no…
Great dinner at Animal.
My last Alaska post. Focus must return to the grind.
Gustavus is home. It took 15 years to show Sonia and the kids, but it was well worth the wait for all of us. My Aunt Aimee was the hostess with the mostest. The Washington side trip to see my Aunt Ona, sister Michelle and her family was icing on the cake.
With views like this, TV was hardly missed.
Aunt Ona’s house. Great Grandparents
Bubble gum alley A rite of passage. Devin’s first beer at a ballpark.
Drove to Kirkland, WA to visit my sister in her home for a change. Cousins, both human and canine, enjoyed a great day together.
My grandfather passed away six years ago today. He was buried the cowboy way in the garden next to my grandmother on an unusally warm and sunny day by Gustavus standards. After the memorial, my cousin and I took turns shoveling dirt onto his casket until the large hole was filled. Flowers soon grew in the dirt, but the final resting place of my…
Remembering our kayak trip in Glacier Bay. Have a great 36th.
We ventured off to Glacier Bay National Park to hike the Bartlett River hike, however Hemingway didn’t tell us he wasn’t allowed to go. Despite being just a few yards from completing the hike, one of the park rangers nabbed us. The ranger recognized my name as my grandfather’s and began reminiscing about his meetings with him and his contributions to the park. He…
