Quick morning walk.

The best part of Brittany playing in the Big East is the away game at the University of Hawaii. Unfortunately, Brittany is injured, but will find a way to cope.

Quelling my daughters fears of traveling to Honolulu for her game against the University of Hawaii.

Flying over Pearl Harbor with a plane full of Japanese. Kamikaze! Too soon?

Not sticking around to see what 106 degrees in October feels like.

Thank You Big Country

It’s an even year. 2010, 2012…2014?

#100 Find a regular barber. It took awhile, but I finally found the old school barber that I was looking for.

Watched Brit play Texas Tech online. The #6 Texas Tech Red Raiders scored the winning goal in the 80th minute to deny the tie.

He’s been gathering balls all day without any luck of convincing us it’s a pool day.

Only way to follow up a perfect lunch is dinner at Mario Batali’s Osteria Mozza.

#46 Eat at Fishing With Dynamite. I wasn’t sure why I added this beach restaurant to the list until we were finished. A perfect lunch.

I often forget we live in a world renowned beach city. For the first time this year we hung out at Manhattan Beach.

My #14 started her second straight game and helped UCR beat Duquesne 2-0. She’s off to Lubbock, Texas to take on undefeated Texas Tech, the number six team in the country.

It’s truffle season. Not much to look at, but it doesn’t get better than pasta smothered in white truffles.

Enjoyed the bench clearing, warm and fuzzy Giants/Dodgers rivalry with my Dad.

Saints in N’awlins

Even though we didn’t have time to hang out in the city, it was great taking in the Saints/Vikings game with some friends.

#65 See an SEC Game. Over 102,000 people strong gathered for the LSU-Miss. St game. The “underdogs” won, but I because I didn’t have a dog in the fight I enjoyed every bit of it.

A quick stop on our way to the LSU game. Bloody Mary’s and BBQ.

After a few delays, we finally landed in Monroe and immediately headed over to one of our employee’s grandparent’s house. I soon found out that her grandfather is Louisiana musical legend G.G Shinn who also happens to be a great cook. After a late dinner, we swung by our customer’s store to drop off some Basically Me in anticipation of Friday’s…

Up in the air. No window seat.

#94 in Progress

One of the best non-fiction books I’ve read in a long, long time.

Excessive is one word for it.

Home to Mastros in Malibu and back in 5 minutes.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Aimee!

I knew I forgot something. I’m a week late, but I know you of all people will understand. Happy Birthday, Auntie A.

#56: Trade in a car Practical? No. Race car? Yes. The 2015 BMW M4 twin turbo is like driving a Porsche 911, but with the benefit of not being the guy with the Porsche.

Best Gift Ever?

Once Hemingway figures out how to drop the ball into the feeder, this will be used all day long.

Just when she had some momentum going, she went and got concussed at practice today. Team doctors have declared her ineligible for Friday’s home game as a precaution.

Some of the 65 million dollars that was seized today in the fashion district. Operation Fashion was two years in the making and made for an entertaining morning. Apparently up to 80 vendors down here were laundering money for the Mexican Drug Cartel. One fabric company we deal with was allegedly a big player. I wonder if we’ll have to pay our bill.

After yesterday’s impressive but unofficial performance, Brittany got her first start of the season and played a great 62 minutes in the Highlanders’ 3-0 win over Norther Iowa.

Despite the 100+ degree temps, it was shaping up to be Brit’s best game of the season. She was first off the bench, started the second half and had two hard shots on goal when the rains came, and came hard it did. Sixty minutes into the game the refs had no choice but to call off the game. Brit’s best performance of the…

I haven’t been in an airport in 14 days.

Riverside got their butts kicked by number 17 USC and Brit only got to shine for 17 minutes, but Grandma and Grandpa made the loss a little easier with their support.

Dinner and a band.

Around the 5:28 mark the coach talks about his offense. Brit is the fourth player mentioned.

UCR traveled down South to play San Diego State, but we were able to catch the game online.

Jason Mraz at the Pantages

A very solid show.

Red Snapper to make my daughter jealous

Despite the size difference, UCR dominated most of the game for a 4-2 win to go 2-0 for the season.

Brittany loves police procedural shows, so we spent the little time we had with her at the CSI Experience in Vegas solving a crime. This was the best thing to come out if it. They told me to act serious. I could not.
