Truth be told, I left my wife and son at the bar once the tarps came out in the tenth in order to tend to my precious Hemingway and Rio, but I am very happy for my family and friends. IMG 2349 from henry james on Vimeo.

IMG_2188 from henry james on Vimeo. Brittany ended her season with a 0-0 double overtime tie. An apropo ending as soccer is about little victories made in the middle. I was surprised that I was mostly able to keep my emotions in check. After all, last night was likely the conclusion of a seventeen year shared experience with my daughter. While the sport offered…

Back to back wins, but too little too late. Last game of Brit’s collegiate career is on Thursday.

Warm night dinner in late October.

Brit made her way back onto the field after a two game hiatus due to injury and helped her team to an improbable 3-0 win over UC Santa Barbara. Only two games left.

Lost in Paradise

Riverside lost to Hawaii 2-0 and remain on life support. Brit hurt her other foot and will likely be out again. Such is sports.

Enjoyed the sunset after watching the Giants beat the Mets in a thrilling wildcard game.

The pregame smiles didn’t last long as Riverside lost 2-0 to UC Irvine. Brit played a great first half before re-injuring her ankle. With only 7 games left, her only option is to try to play through pain and be better at 60-70% than a 100% freshman or sophmore. It’s the year of adversity. My daughter has proven she can handle it. Me? We’ll…

Watching Vin Scully’s final broadcast. Happy it’s against the Giants in San Francisco. Vin was the voice of my early childhood and the best to ever do it. And he’s rooting for the Giants in the wildcard to boot.
IMG_1682</a> from henry james on Vimeo</a>.

It was a disappointing start to the conference season as Riverside lost 2-1 to the champs. Unfortunately the score does not indicate it was a good match. Riverside’s defense was pretty bad and the offense rarely got the ball. Brit had a couple of nice plays and proved to the coach that’s she’s ready to be back in the starting line up, beginning tomorrow…

One Last Push

It’s been a rough non conference for Brit due to her injured ankle, but she finally managed to get back onto the pitch last weekend against Seattle and Bakersfield in hopes of better preparing herself for conference play. The Highlanders take on the conference’s three time defending champs in Fullerton tomorrow. Brit isn’t 100%, but she has eight games left to leave it all…
