Lost in Paradise

Riverside lost to Hawaii 2-0 and remain on life support. Brit hurt her other foot and will likely be out again. Such is sports.

Enjoyed the sunset after watching the Giants beat the Mets in a thrilling wildcard game.

Backyard Photoshoot

The pregame smiles didn’t last long as Riverside lost 2-0 to UC Irvine. Brit played a great first half before re-injuring her ankle. With only 7 games left, her only option is to try to play through pain and be better at 60-70% than a 100% freshman or sophmore. It’s the year of adversity. My daughter has proven she can handle it. Me? We’ll…

Watching Vin Scully’s final broadcast. Happy it’s against the Giants in San Francisco. Vin was the voice of my early childhood and the best to ever do it. And he’s rooting for the Giants in the wildcard to boot.
IMG_1682</a> from henry james on Vimeo</a>.

It was a disappointing start to the conference season as Riverside lost 2-1 to the champs. Unfortunately the score does not indicate it was a good match. Riverside’s defense was pretty bad and the offense rarely got the ball. Brit had a couple of nice plays and proved to the coach that’s she’s ready to be back in the starting line up, beginning tomorrow…

One Last Push

It’s been a rough non conference for Brit due to her injured ankle, but she finally managed to get back onto the pitch last weekend against Seattle and Bakersfield in hopes of better preparing herself for conference play. The Highlanders take on the conference’s three time defending champs in Fullerton tomorrow. Brit isn’t 100%, but she has eight games left to leave it all…

Work let us out early

Brit remains on the DL, so we canceled our trip to Houston and Texas A&M. Since we weren’t suppose to be at work anyway, might as well make it a pool day.

Ann Arbor

The apartment I came home to after I was born.

A couple of decades later, we finally buried George and Rosemary Henshaw, side by side, in East Lansing, Michigan. Despite the fact that my daughter was unable to make the trip, I am here for some important moments because of her.

We’re in Wolverine country.

Off to the land of maize and blue.

An Evening at Dodger Stadium

Playing catch. Devin robbing one. Devin in the cage. Pitching notes on the Cub’s Lester. Softball. Sonia stays true to the Cubs with Eric Karros (a former Cub). When I noticed Sonia filming. Catching Devin in the bullpen. Stadium Tour. Wearing Mickey Hatcher’s World Series Ring. Despite my hatred for the Dodger’s, I thoroughly enjoyed an abbreviated fantasy camp at Dodger Stadium with Sonia…

The Night Of.

Great storytelling. Great Acting. Never contrived.

Brittany had another huge cheering section that witnessed Riverside’s first win of the season, but it came at a cost as evidenced by the crutch holding her up. Brit was clipped from behind and rolled her ankle at the end of the first half. Time will tell how long she will be sidelined for.

A win for the Cubs would’ve been a win for the Giants, but it wasn’t in the cards today.

A long team building lunch at the bowling alley. I crushed them.
