My #14 started her second straight game and helped UCR beat Duquesne 2-0. She’s off to Lubbock, Texas to take on undefeated Texas Tech, the number six team in the country.
Over 102,000 people strong gathered for the LSU-Miss. St game. The “underdogs” won, but I because I didn’t have a dog in the fight I enjoyed every bit of it.
After a few delays, we finally landed in Monroe and immediately headed over to one of our employee’s grandparent’s house. I soon found out that her grandfather is Louisiana musical legend G.G Shinn who also happens to be a great cook. After a late dinner, we swung by our customer’s store to drop off some Basically Me in anticipation of Friday’s event. We were exhausted.
Just when she had some momentum going, she went and got concussed at practice today. Team doctors have declared her ineligible for Friday’s home game as a precaution.
Some of the 65 million dollars that was seized today in the fashion district. Operation Fashion was two years in the making and made for an entertaining morning. Apparently up to 80 vendors down here were laundering money for the Mexican Drug Cartel. One fabric company we deal with was allegedly a big player. I wonder if we’ll have to pay our bill.
After yesterday’s impressive but unofficial performance, Brittany got her first start of the season and played a great 62 minutes in the Highlanders’ 3-0 win over Norther Iowa.
Despite the 100+ degree temps, it was shaping up to be Brit’s best game of the season. She was first off the bench, started the second half and had two hard shots on goal when the rains came, and came hard it did. Sixty minutes into the game the refs had no choice but to call off the game. Brit’s best performance of the season is officially unofficial. They will replay Northern Iowa tomorrow morning.
Riverside got their butts kicked by number 17 USC and Brit only got to shine for 17 minutes, but Grandma and Grandpa made the loss a little easier with their support.
